“The goal for all of us is to not limit our consciousness but to expand our understanding of what lies beyond our limited self and seek a more elevated state of awareness which will advance our soul.”
                                                                                ~ Jane Elizabeth

When I started a daily meditation practice in 1995, I wanted to be calmer, more centered and to increase my intuition. All of those things have happened as I have continued over these many years. Some days might only be a few minutes, while some days I might meditate for much longer.

Maybe more importantly than helping with serenity, meditation has expanded my view of myself. As I’ve surrendered to the energy of my soul, and allowed it to permeate my daily existence, I get in touch with greater possibilities for my life.

This can be challenging, because it feels safe to think of myself with certain boundaries and limits. Meditation always increases the range of my outlook — and once I see a better way I can be living, how can I go back to being satisfied with a lesser plan? It takes courage to leap into the unknown and to trust that I can live in the realm of my greater good. God and my soul always have bigger ideas for me than I can imagine for myself.

Consistent, daily meditation is like having a coach who knows I can make it to the Olympics if I am pushed into experiencing my own talent and power — even though I don’t yet believe I have that level of talent and power within me. I have learned that staying steady with meditation will eventually reveal spiritual possibilities I hadn’t known were possible for me!
