Intuition

Welcome to the Self Study Lesson on the Intuition. There are several lessons on this topic below. Take as long as you want on each lesson, focusing on the action step at the end. Then, go to the next lesson.

LESSON 1: WHAT IS INTUITION?

Q: What is intuition?

A: The intuition is a higher faculty of the mind and will open up an entirely new world of learning. The intuitive faculty is the intelligence of the soul. Daily meditation provides the gateway to your intuition.

Q: How can I use my intuition on a daily basis?

A: Many times your intuition will just flow through you in the moment and you will know the exact thing to say or do that will be in the best interest of all. Daily meditation enhances your intuition and allows your intuitive guidance to flow through you.

Q: How can I tell if my intuition is guiding me or just my ego?

A: It is important to distinguish between your false cravings or addictions and your true intuitive impulses. A false craving is something that you think you want, but when you get it, it doesn’t really satisfy you or enhance your life. A sure sign that you are following your intuition is that you feel more alive and experience an energy shift.

Q: Why should I move from my intellect into my intuition?

A: You have become intelligent enough to know there is more to you than the limitations you are presently experiencing. At this point, you must develop an advanced style of thought, which is your intuition.

You have spent lifetime after lifetime developing your intellect. You have explored many amazing features of your mind and have learned numerous things about the world. Now you are ready to use your intelligence in a higher way.

The main function of your intellectual mind is to reason things out and to analyze your thoughts, circumstances, and surroundings. The purpose of your intuitive mind is to expand your consciousness beyond the scope of your day-to-day life.

Your intellect can only take you a limited distance along the path to enlightenment. Your intuition must be strengthened in order to continue the process. In fact, you could say that intellect is the intelligence of the personality, while the intuition is the intelligence of the soul.

Action step:

Watch this video and meditate each day because it connects you to your Higher Self.

LESSON 2: Moving Beyond Your Intellect into Intuition

Q: What happens when I move out of my intellect into my intuition?

A: When your intuitive mind takes charge, it enables you to have a deeper understanding of your life circumstances. It grants you a wider vision than is available through the small peephole of your intellect. As you transition from intellect to intuition, you will shed your personality attachments and gain greater identification with your soul.

Q: How can intuition help to prepare me for what’s next in my life?

A: You intuitively know that you need to prepare yourself for certain things to come. Perhaps you are going to get a new job or something significant is about to happen. Your Higher Self already knows everything before it is going to happen to you–if you are paying attention. And so, lots of times you are being prepared for some future event.

Q: What if I follow what I think is my intuition and it turns out to be wrong?

A: Every experience is an opportunity to learn about yourself. If you feel your intuition was “wrong”, examine the situation surrounding what you felt was guidance, and see what was happening. Your intuition is never wrong, but your ability to listen to and interpret it clearly develops over time.

Action step:

You can ask these questions to help you understand the situation:

  1. Was I attached to a certain answer or direction?
    • If you’re attached to a certain answer, it’s harder to discern what message your pure guidance is trying to send to you.
  2. Do I feel my intuition was “wrong”, or did the situation turn out differently than I wanted?
    • You can receive an intuitive message clearly, but misinterpret what outcome it will bring.

Watch as that experience unfolds. You’ll be able to see why you received the message you did over time.

Trust the process! The important thing is that you are listening to your intuition, asking for guidance, and following through with the guidance you receive.

LESSON 3: Trusting Your Intuition

Q: How can I learn to trust my intuition?

A: As you work with your intuition you begin to sense the vibration that your intuition is on, which is a unique energy and feeling. Meditation helps you get in touch with this energy.

Q: Why is it important to trust my intuition?

A: Learning to use your new intuitive “equipment” and being able to interpret
the information you receive is important. Be gentle with yourself, however, as
it requires time and patience to master these skills.

Action step:

Practice using your intuition on unimportant things, such as “Where should I park today? What store do I need to go to?”—things that will help you learn to trust your intuition without any negative consequences.
Keep a log of every time you notice your intuition at work

LESSON 4: Intuition: The Key to Moving in Consciousness

Q: How will intuition help me move in consciousness?

A: The real truth of you comes in through your intuition. You can always take your intuition to deeper levels as you grow in understanding of how your intuition works.

Action step:

Use your intuition as often as you can. Ask every day for divine guidance, in every situation. Practice! Without intuition, you cannot move in consciousness. Through intuition, you develop your Abstract Mind.

Watch this video and journal the following questions, which will help you develop your intuition:

  1. In what ways do you use your intuition on a regular basis?
  2. As you develop your intuition and Abstract Mind, how does this help you move out of a limited state of being?
  3. What can you be doing to strengthen your intuitive connection?
